Peachy GreenThe secret to this smoothie is the coconut milk. It gives the drink an extra creamy and rich texture – almost like a peach milkshake. Adding an orange boosts the Vitamin C level and adds a nice sweet-tart element.Ingredients2 cups spinach2 cups coconut milk2 cups sliced peaches*1.5 oranges (peeled)Directions
*Any variety of peaches or nectarines is fine. Other stone fruits like apricots, plums, and cherries can also be used if peaches aren’t available.*Use at least one frozen fruit to make it cold.
- Blend spinach and coconut milk until smooth
- Add remaining ingredients, and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
Treat yourself with a healthy and spirited way to start your St. Patty’s Day!Ingredients
1-1.5 large frozen banana1-1.25 cup non-dairy milk (almond, soy, hemp, rice, etc.)Handful of fresh mint leaves, stems removed2 handfuls spinach1/8-1/4 tsp peppermint extract (optional)1 tbsp chopped dark chocolate, for garnishDirections
- Add in all of the ingredients except the chocolate into a blender and blend until smooth.
- Adjust to taste and serve with a garnish of chopped dark chocolate and mint leaves.
- Enjoy with a spoon.
Arugula Almond GingerGreen smoothies are often associated with spinach, sometimes kale, but don't rule out arugula. The peppery taste of arugula and the spice from ginger makes this smoothie an immune system booster and morning kick starter.Ingredients1/2 cup of fresh squeezed orange juice1 cup of arugula (packed tight)1 tablespoon (7 grams) of almonds1/2 ripe green pear, peel and core1 quarter sized piece of fresh, peeled ginger2 to 4 tablespoons of plain low-fat yogurt to taste3 ice cubesDirections
