Luciana Marcial-Vincion, Spinning® Master Instructor| South Carolina, USA

Luciana Marcial-Vincion’s journey that led to her eventual certification as a Master Instructor began the first time she had any exposure to Spinning® at all back in 2000. That’s because the first time she was ever on a bike, it was the exact day she began her Instructor Training. We found out how this happened and it’s kind of serendipitous - she was originally she was required to complete the Instructor Training because of her employment, but she was so impressed by the technical and scientific research behind Spinning® as well as the flexible ease, she stuck with it.In fact, the simplicity of Spinning is the main reason she said she loves the workout:“I love that it is easy to learn – anyone can do it because it is riding a bike! Also, everyone has the power to control their intensity through individual choices made with the resistance knob and cadence. There’s no “one size fits all” here!”
What inspired you to become a Certified Spinning® Instructor and then a Master Instructor?
I became captivated by the science behind the program. As an exercise physiologist in the ‘aerobics’ world, I was intrigued by the seamless delivery of sound training principles in a group environment, and I wanted to be a part of that crew that would change the way the public viewed group fitness.
What do you love about teaching Spinning® classes?
The thing I most appreciate and try to cultivate in my classes is an environment of authenticity – a sanctuary where everyone can feel safe and genuinely happy being exactly who they are with no judgments. Fostering an arena of sincere emotional, physical and spiritual human layers creates integrity, honesty and belief. In this type of environment students feel free; and with that freedom comes profound possibility for transformation!
She shares her experience as a coach/teacher and points out a common theme held in common with many Master Instructors:
Here’s the thing – typically when we think of sharing a particular memory it is one isolated magical event. In my case these magical events happen EVERY SINGLE TIME I teach.I meet so many people in every workshop that share their stories of success or life transformation. Like the student-now-instructor who says Spinning saved their life because they lost 200 pounds. Or the person that says Spinning is what gave them strength to pick themselves up after being knocked down hard many times.Or, my favorite “I became an instructor because of you.
” What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about becoming a Certified Spinning® Instructor?
Go out there and do it! This first step will carve out transformative roads and new horizons to not only foster your own growth as a human being but also to help others realize their dreams.
