STEP TWO
COMPLETE THE COURSE
Get immediate access to course materials in SpinU—the Spinning® learning platform. Begin learning right away and mark your calendar for your training date if you signed up for an In-person or Virtual format
STEP THREE
PASS THE EXAM
Take the online 50-question multiple choice exam and pass with 80% or higher. You’re now officially a Certified Spinning® Instructor and can download your digital certificate. If you don't pass on the first try, don't worry! You may retake the test.
STEP FOUR
JOIN SPIN®
As a Certified Spinning® Instructor, you’re eligible to join the Spinning® Program Instructor Network (SPIN®) for free monthly profiles and playlists, free courses and more exclusive benefits.
STEP FIVE
START TEACHING
Show your proof of certification at the studio where you want to teach. Many studios require a short audition, and some may ask for CPR/AED certification.
STEP SIX
CONTINUE THE JOURNEY
Your Spinning® certification is valid for 2 years. You can renew by earning 14 SPIN® CECs through a variety of online courses. Or you can earn all 14 CECs by completing a specialty certification! Do you offer discounts or payment plans?
We are proud to offer several ways to make certifications more accessible.
- SPIN® Members: Your discount is automatically applied at checkout – no code needed.
- Military/Student/YMCA Members: Please email valid proof of status (e.g. ID or enrollment verification) to education@spinning.com to receive your exclusive discount code.
- Payment Plans: We partner with Affirm to offer flexible payment options. Just choose Affirm at checkout and you will instantly receive your payment plan choices.
Do I need my own bike to take a certification course?
If you’re taking a live, in-person certification, the bikes will be provided by the host facility.
If you’re taking an online or virtual certification, you’ll need access to a bike for the rides, but if you don’t have one at home, you have the flexibility to complete all coursework and the exam first. The on-the-bike portion can be completed afterward.
How long do I have access to the training material? Can I rewatch or revisit the material later?
Course access to the training material does not expire. You get lifetime access and can rewatch and revisit the material as much as you’d like after completing the course. The Instructor Manuals that come with each certification are very comprehensive, and you’ll find the information very useful for years to come.
Is CPR certification required to teach Spinning® classes?
While Spinning® does not require CPR certification to earn your instructor credential, many gyms and studios do require it as part of their employment policy. We strongly recommend maintaining current CPR/AED certification to ensure you're prepared to lead safe, effective classes and meet hiring standards in your area.
Are Spinning® courses approved by other fitness organizations?
Yes, all Spinning® certification courses and most continuing education courses are approved for continuing education credit by ACE, AFAA, and NASM. Our course descriptions list the number of CECs awarded by each organization.
