Petition SPIN® CECs

In addition to Spinning® Continuing Education courses and workshops, you can petition up to 6 SPIN® CECs (Spinning continuing education credits) on courses not previously approved by Mad Dogg Athletics®. Acceptable examples include a course in Exercise Science, Biomechanics or Heart Rate Training. These credits count towards the 14 CECs required for renewal, every two years to keep your Spinning Instructor Certification valid.

What you need to know:

  • The course must relate to your role as a Certified Spinning® Instructor.
  • Other Indoor Cycling Certifications outside of Spinning® will not be accepted for Spinning® CEC’s.
  • A qualified Educator, Health or Fitness professional must teach the course.
  • Please petition each conference sessions separately.
  • No refunds for unapproved courses.
  • Petitioned courses must occur within your renewal period; courses before or after your renewal period are not accepted.
  • Once submitted, please allow us 1-2 weeks to review your petition application.
  • Once approved, you will see the credits reflected in your SpinU account.

To petition credits, please log into your SpinU account and access the Petition Applications page through the Online Courses section. From there, you can select the appropriate number of credits, and submit your payment. 

Please note that we typically award 1 CEC per hours of instruction. Once submitted, applications are reviewed within 1-2 weeks, and approved credits will be added your account automatically.  

Petition CECs for CPR/AED and First Aid

You can earn 1 Spinning® CEC for your valid CPR/AED certification and 1 Spinning® CEC for your valid First Aid certification. We waive the fee for the CPR/AED and First Aid credits, meaning you can earn up to 2 free CEC credits!

Note that your CPR/AED and/or First Aid certification(s) must be current and earned within your two-year certification period. Proof of certification is required. 

How to submit your CPR/AED and First Aid certificate for CECs:

  1. Log into SpinU
  2. Click on Online Courses 
  3. Scroll down to CPR and First Aid Credit
  4. Select CPR or First Aid or both and add to cart (cost will be $0)
  5. Finish the checkout process and go to My Courses on SpinU 
  6. Enter your Certification details and submit for approval
  7. Once approved, you will see the CEC credits added into your account
