Why did you start taking Spinning® classes?
I started Spinning® in 2005 because I wanted to recover after an injury. My first Spinning® class ended in a complete deception because of the bad teaching of the instructor at that time. I gave it a second change and another instructor convinced me that this was it! A proper training that was fun at the same time.
What inspired you to become a Certified Spinning® Instructor and then a Master Instructor?
In 2005 I met my girlfriend who had her own health center and they were teaching Spinning. I was very interested to teach and signed up for my Spinning® Instructor Training. After this it went fast. One visit to the WSSC Conference with a friend made me fall in love with the Spinning® program and the whole Spinning® community. Energy, hard work and friendship at the same time. I was committed to following my continuing Spinning® education. As a man with a mission just 4 years later, I had the opportunity to apply for the Master Instructor Camp. The journey continued. Spinning® was and is still my biggest passion.
What do you love about teaching Spinning® classes?
Teaching other people, touching their minds and hearts and having fun at the same time is the most rewarding job you can imagine.
What are your top three favorite songs to play during your Spinning® classes and why?
I have no favorite songs in particular. I love the music that taps into your senses and makes you strong. I love movie music tracks.
What makes Spinning® such a great workout?
Hard effort, relaxation and fun are the key. The Spinning® Program is a perfect way to gain or regain and sustain a proper fitness level for beginners and pros.
Share a memory from your experience as a teacher/coach/presenter that embodies the value of being a Certified Spinning® Instructor or Spinning® Master Instructor?
Every time I teach a Spinning® Instructor Training, I enjoy the energy that builds up during the education. Individuals become a team. The motivation building up inside the future instructors is radiating the positive energy that provides me with a feeling of happiness. During the final ride, when they open their minds and release their passion for Spinning, they always give me goose bumps. In the past 10 years I did a lot of final rides during a Spinning® event that was organized to support a charity. It is an amazing feeling to support people and organizations to brighten their future.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about becoming a Certified Spinning® Instructor?
Don’t think, if you feel it you can do it. You will never regret it.
What’s one of your favorite motivational quotes?
"Be like water, find a way, go over, go under, go around, but find a way." -Bruce Lee
Do you have a hero in the Spinning® community, someone who deserves recognition for their leadership?
Luciana is my all-time favorite. She guides us and lead us in a way you just have to feel if you want to know where I am talking about.
Is there anything about you that would surprise people?
My birthday is only once in four years. That’s special, isn’t it?
