The Power of the Spinning® Program and Pilates

When you combine the cardiovascular training elements of the Spinning® program and the core, mind/body training elements of Pilates, you get a total-body workout from the inside out. Spinning is an essential class for every cyclist, and by doing Pilates, you will become more aware of how your body, comprised of individual parts, functions as a whole. Still find it hard to believe that these two opposite exercise modalities complement each other? Read on to learn how you can combine the Spinning program with Pilates from Spinning instructor and Peak Pilates® Teacher Trainer, Sara Talbert.

Facility of the Month: Buffalo Athletic Club—Southtowns Location

The Buffalo Athletic Club–Southtowns Location in Orchard Park, NY was founded in 1998 and is one of twelve locations within the Buffalo Athletic Club family of health and wellness facilities. Rick Rugg and Bob Schiffhauer founded the Buffalo Athletic Club in October of 1980 based around three simple values: service, cleanliness and owner-operated facilities, and they have continued to maintain these core ideals.

The Southtowns location offers a full Spinning® class schedule, as well as a variety of other group exercise classes, including yoga, Pilates, Zumba®, PiYo, Total Body Sculpt, Bootcamp, Tai Chi and much more.

Buffalo Athletic Club offers a new member service package, including a series of scheduled meetings with a personal trainer; each one focusing on different fitness components that will provide the safest and most effective fitness routine for you.

Don't worry about leaving the little ones at home because the Buffalo Athletic Club offers a supervised child care area while you work out, which is included in your membership. Learn more about the Buffalo Athletic Club—Southtowns Location

Spinning® Social Circle

You've probably noticed that the Spinning Facebook page has changed to the new timeline format. Confused yet? Not to worry, here are some of the new features you need to know:

  • The "Like" button is now on the right-hand side below the cover photo (the large picture going across the top).
  • You can now send a message to the Spinning page. This is useful if you have any specific questions that you do not want to write on the wall.
  • Another new feature is the bar on the right-hand side. You can click a specific date and see what was going on during those times.
  • Photos are right below the cover photo and next to the custom tabs. To view all of the tabs, select the drop down arrow and it will expand.
  • To see all of the page information, click on the "about" box and it will come up.

We hope this helps make navigating the new Spinning Facebook timeline easier for you! If you have any other questions about it, feel free to message us and we will gladly assist you. You are still able to post on our wall and interact with our status updates, so please do so!

Don’t forget to “like” our page if you haven’t already. We have Tip Tuesday’s from our Master Instructor team and STAR 3 instructors, Education Tip Thursdays, weekly playlists on Spotify, and so much more! You can also “follow” us on Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram! (SpinningHQ for all of those!)
