Mastery of the mind leads to a more peaceful, productive, and creative way of living. This course guides you in your own personal quest for peak performance and health through the use of mental training techniques that can be applied to your Spinning® classes. Believe in the power of your mind!
Periodization for Peak Performance
Attract more participants to your class by integrating the concepts of periodization. This is the concept of dividing the calendar year into periods characterized by different forms of training—this course explains how to correctly partition the year and include applicable factors such as goal setting, Spinning® Energy Zones™, anaerobic training, monitoring heart rate, and training time. Review sample annual periodization schedules for both new and experienced clients, as well as competitive athletes.
Principles for Effective Weight Loss
Teach your clients how to not only lose weight, but keep it off. Weight loss can be a tricky goal to tackle, even for trained fitness professionals. The Spinning® program is one aspect of a well-rounded weight loss plan, and this course describes the remaining factors: nutrition, healthy habits, how to avoid misconceptions, heart rate training, Energy Zones™, an exercise schedule and ways to measure success.
Exercise Physiology
Exercise physiology is the study of the body's function during activity. As a Certified Spinning® Instructor, becoming familiar with the normal changes that take place during exercise will help you become a more effective, knowledgeable coach. This online course is to familiarize you with basic exercise physiology concepts and to give you an idea of how to apply them in your Spinning® classes.
Spinning® Energy Zones
This online course provides an in-depth examination of training and instruction concepts for each Spinning® Energy Zone, written by five different authors with specialized expertise in their Energy Zone™ field. These five rides are the foundation of the Spinning® program and the main reason why Spinning® has achieved a higher level of sophistication than other group exercise programs that fail to recognize the importance of heart rate parameters and specificity of training. This course will also give you a thorough knowledge of how to present training sessions in each Energy Zone™, and enable your students to experience the benefits of a well-rounded training system.
Principles of Aerobic Exercise
You know that aerobic exercise is important. But do your clients? This course stresses the importance of emphasizing aerobic exercise, as it can be the most overlooked component of a well-rounded fitness routine. Learn how to educate your clients on the concept of conducting training sessions at comfortable heart rates, and how it ensures long-term fitness progress and optimum health. We will review the principles of aerobic exercise, aerobic heart rate training, how it applies in the Spinning® Energy Zones™ program and the importance of a proper warm-up and cool-down.
Spinning® for Active Older Adults
This course reflects one of the fundamental principles of the Spinning® program-addressing the individuality of each participant. Active older adults comprise the fastest growing segment of the fitness population and have distinct and different exercise needs and goals from younger fitness enthusiasts. Spinning® for Active Older Adults will discuss the physical and emotional needs of senior Spinning® participants, giving you additional expertise in training these riders. This text covers safety concerns for older riders, physiological benefits of exercise, heart rate considerations and recovery techniques to prevent fatigue and burnout.

After signing up for my membership, I received an enrollment for a workshop I had already taken. If part of the rewards package is a workshop, recommend Mad Dogg offer that option and leave it up to

I am proud of my SPIN membership. I find the continuing Ed courses informative and actually enjoy reviewing basics I may have forgotten. As an instructor, I need to stay current and knowledgeable and my membership holds me accountable.

Easy to re enroll and very informational. I don't teach as much as I used to, so the website is invaluable to me.

I signed up for this program for the additional training it provides, along with the 4 free class outlines per month. It is well worth the cost. However, the website is very difficult to navigate. I finally had to email customer service to find where I could download the class outlines. The website does not provide straight forward, easy to follow links. This is something that can easily be corrected and it could be much more user friendly. Additionally, it would be nice if you could access all of the past courses, even if it was for a one-time additional cost. $29.95 seems a little steep for the courses I saw available.
