Race Day Energy Zone

Workshop Summary

A Race Day Energy Zone ride is a celebration and an opportunity to apply the consistent Energy Zone training you and your students have practiced to a peak performance effort. Race Day is not an everyday ride-it can be used as a monthly test to recognize and appreciate progress made and set further goals. It's the ultimate challenge. This workshop will teach you to prepare your students and create a safe, high-powered Race Day ride.

Workshop Objectives

  1. Define Race Day.
  2. Identify the components of the Race Day Energy Zone.
  3. Review Race Day guidelines.
  4. Learn how to prepare for Race Day.
  5. Understand the benefits of the Race Day Energy Zone.
  6. Identify individual training zones.
  7. Experience a Race Day Energy Zone class.

Workshop Details

During the Race Day ride, you’ll be able to measure and quantify your ability, which will help you set Spinning goals and achieve your best. Race Day is a test of your overall Spinning strength, so you should already have established a solid threshold before performing a Race Day ride. It is a method for determining the highest sustainable heart rate or “race pace.” In order to be the best you can be, you will try to hold the highest heart rate you can for the 30 minutes of the race effort. Race Day can be used as a monthly test to determine whether your training plan is making you more fit.
