wowee! I'm reading the best book ever! The Slow Fat Triathlete: Live Your Athletic Dream in the Body You Have. Jayne Williams. If you're trying to tackle a "weight problem" by cutting and counting your calories and schlepping off to aggressive group fitness classes....hang on a minute. Jayne Williams was on approach toward 300 lbs at 5'9" and she had a lot of pain....but one step at a time, one pedal stroke at a time, one lap at a time, she got to where she has a totally cool lifestyle of doing triathlons and not being last. (don't worry...some events cheer and celebrate the last athlete as hearty as they cheer the first one across the finish line.) She says, Who cares what you look like? It's no beauty contest out there anyway! It's not about what you look like; it is about challenging yourself and doing things with your body that your head never thought possible.
I so much should have written this book - I'll write another!
If you did the 8week program (my stuff never found me in Cambodia...hmmmm...I'll have to look into that!) What has happened to you since? Are you still on track? Get back on track and just be patient with yourself. Don't get frustrated...or rather, do get frustrated and churn that energy back into your patient pursuit of living a life where you're able to do the stuff you dream of! What the heck else is there in life? Above all, don't go it alone. Get a buddy to be accountable to....
