How to begin
05/19/2011 7:38 am
A new instructor recently e-mailed me to ask which I think should come first, the class design or the music. My answer was immediate, start with the objective. Decide what your training segment will be about.
Fitness cannot be accomplished in one session but you can decide to work toward a specific objective during your training minutes. Even though the body will not be significantly different at the end of the class, the information and viewpoints you pass along can initiate immense changes in your participants. Beginning with the objective allows an instructor to develop some specific activities and prompts that help students expand their views of the stated objective. Following class, they?ll have time to process the information. As they do, your words and commitment toward whole body fitness will encourage them to alter some (or all) of their training practices. If they are on the path to success, then hopefully your class segment will be terrific reinforcement.
